All of Joe's activities earned Joe a position with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). First he joined the Iguana Specialist Group, than the Crocodile Specialist Group. Conferences are held worldwide and some of the destinations includes Australia, Cuba, Fiji, Honduras, Belize, Grand Cayman, and Bolivia. NSSF has been involved with assisting in field work in Komodo, Guyana, British Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic, Utila, Honduras and The Turk's and Caicos Islands. NSSF and Joe is also a member of the Bahamas National Trust, visiting and documenting all seven taxa of ground iguanas in the Bahamas.
He has developed a poster featuring the Bahamian iguanas to be donated to schools throughout the Bahamas (the poster is available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds going to Bahamian conservation projects featuring the iguanas).
